P is for Prayer

It’s time for a new writing and coloring page.  We’re over half way through the alphabet, so that means that we’re more than half way through the school year.

This page is “P is for Prayer”.  This page features a boy and girl, each on their knees praying.  I love the details that these kids have to them.  Each week, I do one of these pages as a warm-up with my class, but they could be used for a lesson, a review, or so many other things.

Here’s a thumbnail view of of the page….

Snowy Ten Frame Match

It’s a new week and a new freebie!!  Is it me or is time going by really fast??  We’re already coming up on mid-month and we just started this new year!!

Today, I have a ten frame activity for you.  The snowflakes in the ten frame are counted and matched to the snowman numeral and number word.  I like to include both the numeral and number word because I really think it helps with association.  I did these with the numbers 1-20 so you can use as many or as few of the cards as needed.

Here’s a thumbnail view of parts of this activity….

I’d also appreciate it if you’d click the button below to vote for my blog….thanks!!

Snowy Night Alphabet Match

It’s time for a freebie!!  This one features a beautiful background with cute snowman and matching snowflakes.  Seems fitting for this time of the year!!

This game is Snowy Night Alphabet Match.  For this file folder game (ffg), the snowflakes with the slower case letters are matched to the snowmen with the upper case letters.  As the child becomes more proficient with matching them, you could use a timer to see how quickly they can make their matches.

Here’s a thumbnail view of of the game….

N is for Noah

Here’s the first Bible ABC page of 2013!!  I can’t believe that it’s been 3 weeks since I’ve done one of these and 2 weeks that we’ve been out of class.  I’ve missed my kiddos, but I wish that I had just one more week to relax!!

This page is “N is for Noah”.  I really like the way hubby drew this one.  I hope that you and your kids do too!!  Each week, I do one of these pages as a warm-up with my class.  My hubby is kind enough to draw each one for me.

Here’s a thumbnail view of of the page….

New Year….New Printables

2013

Well, now that 2013 is here and the hustle and bustle of the holidays is over, I’ll be getting back to creating some new printables!!  I had big plans for Christmas freebies for all of you, but I just couldn’t complete anything other than my 2 Elf on the Shelf items.  Family is so important to me and we really did have a great holiday season.  I know that I didn’t have much for you all and that my blog took a little hit without things being posted, but it was worth it to me in so many ways!!

This weekend, I have several things going on, so it’ll be next week when I start creating and posting free materials again.  Also, next week I go back to teaching my religion class as Christmas Break will be over.  That means that I’ll be back to posting my weekly Bible Alphabet page.

Thanks for sticking by me and The Schoolhouse little blog!!

Merry CHRISTmas!!

Merry-Christmas-Nativity

Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, in order to register along with Mary, who was engaged to him, and was with child. While they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

~Luke 2:4-7

Merry CHRISTmas to all!!

Shelf Elf Counting

We’re having so much fun with our Elf on the Shelf, that I just had to make another freebie for you all!!  I know I had plans to do more, but with everything going on, I just wasn’t sure I was going to get any done.

This game has several possibilities.  For this one, I left the elves blank and made numbers from 1-100 to place on the elves.  One shelf of elves can go up to 25, so if printed 2 per page, you could use it for counting to 100.  It can just be a matter of placing in numerical order or even skip counting.  There’s a variety of ways that these little shelf elves can be used for number games!!

Here’s a thumbnail view of what this game looks like….

Shelf Elf Alphabetical Order Fill-In

It’s time for a Christmas freebie printable!!  This is the first year that my family has done the Elf on the Shelf and we’re having a great time with it.  Even though my daughter is a teen, she’s playing along and looks for him every morning.  How many of you have an Elf on the Shelf at home or in the classroom??

Well, I decided to create a couple printables for this cute little character.  This is just one of what I’m hoping will be at least a couple more.  This one was a complete thought and I was able to finish it up between the hectic holiday schedule!!

For this game, the directions say that the elves have lost their space on the shelves.  In order for them to get their spot back, they must be placed in alphabetical order by filling in the blanks between the elves already sitting on the shelf.  So the elves fit on the shelves better, I’d recommend cutting them out instead of the whole boxes.  For little hands, cutting the whole box might be more convenient.

Here’s a thumbnail view of what this game looks like….

Here’s the “M is for Moses” page. Moses is parting the Red Sea, and I have to say that I really like this one!!  I’ve created my own page for each letter of the alphabet and each of these page contains letter writing and a word from the Bible. The images are hand-drawn by my wonderful husband!!

Christmas Printables

I’m working on some new Christmas materials to share with you all, but it’s taking so much time and I’ve just been so busy.  I’m sure that you can relate, as I’d be willing to be that you all have a lot going on too.  In the meantime, you can see the previous Christmas freebie printables that I’ve shared.

Santa with list and bag

If you’re looking for nativity ideas, please look here.  There’s 2 pages worth of things that I’ve shared in the past.  If you’re just looking for general Christmas, you can see those here.  There’s a few nativity that showed up on this list as well.

Also, last year when I did my “Nativity A Day”, I shared them on my personal blog.  You can find nativity printables here.  There’s more than a page of them.  For basic Christmas prinables, there’s several for you to look at.  You’ll find Christmas printables here andsome 12 Days of Christmas here.  If you read through this, you’ll find several Christmas materials.

I hope this keeps your kids and family busy having fun and learning for now.  There’ll be some new Christmas printables coming soon.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you find something that you can use.

If you use any of these freebies, please leave a comment and let me know or share pictures of your kids in action with them.  I’d also appreciate it if you took the time to click the button below to vote for my blog….thanks!!
