Layers and Animals of the Rainforest

We had a “challenge” in my group for the rainforest theme.  I created this file folder game (ffg) for my members.  Players will label the 4 layers of the rainforest.  They will also sort animals into the 4 layers where they spend most of their time.  I wasn’t able to create a worksheet to accompany the game, but an answer key for the ffg is provided.

Here’s a thumbnail view of parts of the game….

All the images are from internet sources and believed to be public domain.

Ten Commandments Lacing

Quite some time ago, I made a lacing card for the Ten Commandments.  It’s so hard to find them with the Catholic version, so I just used what I had.  Was rather a bummer because I couldn’t use them for my kiddos in class.  Then, not too long ago, I rediscovered this lacing card and shared them in my Christian Y!Group and I was asked to create a Catholic version.  I didn’t find anything suitable, so I had my fantastic hubby draw me the tablets and then I added the words.

Here’s a thumbnail view of of the lacing cards….

Meep!!

I had a request in my group for some printable activities for Beaker.  Beaker is one of the Muppets and he’s most seen in the science lab with Dr. Bunsen Honeydew.  He always says “MEEP”!!

The things that I created for Beaker are pretty standard.  There’s a set of 4 9-piece jigsaw puzzles.  I also made a set of “label the color” cards.  Finally, there’s a Beaker tic-tac-toe game with a couple options for the tokens to play with.

Here’s a thumbnail of some of the pages….

All images are from internet sources and believed to be public domain.

Symbols of the U.S. from A-Z Flashcards

Here’s the second part of the project that I’ve been wanting to do for a while, but just finally got working on it.  The first part was a set of 5×7 posters and this is a set of flashcards.

This is a set of flashcards that feature symbols of the United States. There is one for each letter of the alphabet. I did have to get creative with “X”, so please no negative feedback. You can choose not to use it or replace it with something of your choice.  These have a few different images than the posters do to add some variety to them!!

There are 4 sets of flashcards. Included is one set each for Zaner-Bloser manuscript and cursive. You’ll also find one set each for D’Nealian manuscript and cursive. They can be identified by ZB or DN in the file name. If it’s cursive, it’ll also include that in the file name.

Here’s a thumbnail view of some of the flashcards….

Images from internet sources and believed to be public domain.

If you’re interested in these flashcards, just….

I hope that you’ve enjoyed the posters and flashcards featuring the great symbols of the United States.  This is one my favorite projects and I regret that it took so long for me to do, but I’m thrilled that they’re now done.  If you missed the 5×7 posters, you can find them here.

If you use any of my printables, have any requests, or just want to let me know how you used them, please leave a comment and let me know. I’d also appreciate it if you’d click the button below to vote for my blog. (You can vote ONCE a day!!) I also have a “contact” button in the right column. Counting Apples

Since this month starts fall/autumn and I had a request in my group, I decided to get a jump on it and start making things to share.  The request was for some counting mats with apples.

I’ve come up with Counting Apples for the Apple Tree and I went with the number word on the tree and the numeral on the basket.  That number of apples will be placed on the mat.  This activity will work on a couple of skills for little ones.  These mats are for counting 0-25.

Frame © Katie at Just So Scrappy and used with permission.  Clipart is from my personal files and it’s believed that I have permission to share what I create with them.

Here’s a thumbnail view of some of the parts of this printable….

Around the Pirate Ship

I have another pirate game for you, mateys!!

This one is Around the Pirate Ship and it’s a file folder game (ffg) for adding or subtracting to 10.  Players start on the space and then add or subtract to get the sum to finish the problem.  To do so, they’ll place an addition or subtraction sign in the black spot on the game board.  1 or more players can play and there’s optional treasure chest tokens to keep track of how many signs were placed correctly.

Here’s a thumbnail view of this pirate’s ffg….

Patriotic Calendar and Desk Sets

It’s almost time to go “back to school”, so this week, I’ll be creating and sharing things to use in the classroom (or at home) as we all head back in that direction.  Most will be calendar sets in a variety of color themes, but if time permits, I’ll also be making some other materials.

I call this first set patriotic because I used a red, white, and blue background.  It’s a great background with all the patriotic colors in a fun swirl.

The calendar set includes dates 1-31 with extras like “no school”, “birthday”, and a couple of others.  There’s also a set of numerals for 32-100 for those that use your calendars as a 100’s chart.  There’s also all 12 months of the year, as well as years from 2012 to 2017, so you can use this set for years to come!!  Finally, there’s a set of days to use on their own or use with the yesterday was, today is, and tomorrow will be cards.

In the desk set is a set of cubbie tags and desk plates.  Both include a blank for you to use as needed.  There’s also a 1-100 counting chart.  I also made a set of “home tags” which list several methods that the children go home.  These can be attached to the desk, used as a neck tag, or attached to the backpack.  Had my daughters teacher used these in 1st grade, I wouldn’t have had to be panicked when my daughter didn’t get off the bus!!  Finally, there’s some incentive sheets.  These are larger in size and can be used for behavior, reading, returning homework, or a number of other things.

Here’s a thumbnail view of what the calendar set looks like….

NOTE:  Some of these files are very large in size.  I apologize if they download slow.  I’m not sure why they’re so large when there’s no graphics and only a background.

Mr. Potato Head

Today, I have lots of printables for home or the classroom featuring Mr. Potato Head.  There’s even a few Mrs. thrown in with it!!

First up, there’s a set of 5×7 posters.  These include money, upper/lower case letters, numeral/number word, and colors.

There’s one set of flashcards for days of the week and months of the year.  Mr. Potato Head’s face is used for a set of “label the color” cards.  Mr. Potato Head as Superman and Mrs. Potato Head as Wonder Woman are a set of shape matching cards with a storage box.  These are matching the shape to the shape word.  Finally for the cards, there’s a set of alphabet clothespin cards to match the lower case letter to the upper case letter that Mr. Potato Head is holding.

You’ll also find a set of banners featuring Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head.  These could be used for a themed party or to decorate your classroom!!  To go along with that, there’s a large set of bingo cards featuring Mr. Potato Head (and a few Mrs. Potato Head) dressed in fun ways.

Lastly, there’s a set of memory cards that I previously shared in another post.  These feature Mr. Potato Head wearing the gear of each of the NFL football teams.  However, there are 2 teams missing as he wasn’t available that way or there’s no images available.

Ice Cream Cones

I thought that I’d cool things down today since it’s so hot outside!!  These are a couple of printables that I made last year and thought that it was time to share them.

First up is a set of 2-part cards for color matching.  The scoop of ice cream is matched to the color word on the card.  For all of them, I used actual ice cream flavor images  to make these.  One of them is sherbert, but I couldn’t find ice cream!!

The next item is a set of mats for matching contractions to their words.  There’s a total of 5 mats that can be used separately or together.  The ice cream scoop has the contraction, and the mat has the cones with the contraction words.

Clipart and graphics from personal source.  Some also from internet sources and believed to be public domain or samples and copyright/watermark remains in tact.

Here’s a thumbnail view of some of the ice cream cone printables….

A Bee C’s Writing Strips

Today, I have a set of tracer strips.  They can be used as cards/strips, or they can be placed on a metal ring.  I recommend printing on card stock, laminating them, and using a dry erase marker to practice writing the upper and lower case alphabet.  Each strip features and adorable little bee, thus the A Bee C’s Writing Strips!!
