Silent Consonants 2

This week, I’m going to be featuring a couple silent consonant games that I created.  This is the second of three installments.  When the Calf is in the Barn focuses on silent c, h, l, and s.

There’s really no rhyme nor reason to how I decided to make these silent consonant games. I just wanted to cover all of them so that the kids would become familiar with silent letters and be able to recognize them. These games are a simple sorting game. The words are to be sorted to the mat for the letter that’s silent in each word. There’s also a worksheet that accompanies this game and can be completed during or after game play.  This will also help with pronunciation and spelling of the words.

Here’s a collage sample of some of the parts of this game….

If you’re interested in this second installment of the silent consonants games, please just…..

If you’re going to use this game for your homeschool, classroom, or other location, please leave a comment and let me know how you and the kids like it. I’d also appreciate it if you’d click the button below (as well as in the side bar under “vote or rate The Schoolhouse”).
