What a week!!  It was a little crazy….good, but crazy and it’s about to get even more so.  Kiddos birthday is this week and her party is next weekend.  I got so wrapped up in everything this week that I totally forgot to post anything!!  HAHA  Now the question is…what to share!?!?

I think that since today was the first day of autumn, I’m going to take you on a Fall Hay Ride.  This is a blank or generic file folder game (ffg).  You can simply use it as a board game, or you can make your own skill to play the game.  It’s a very basic game, so you can create your own rules, skills, or whatever you need to play a fun game!!

IMPORTANT UPDATE:  I created these for my Y!Group for our “letter of the week” for the previous school year.  Members started asking that I include a word list so that the kids can self-check themselves.  When I posted this, I forgot to include the word list.  It’s now included and while I was at it, I added several more word tile cards.  So if you’ve downloaded this, please download the new version so that you have the most updated file!!

Here’s a collage sample of some of the pieces in the calendar set….

Letter of the Week: Aa

Since school has started for most or will be starting very soon, my Y!Group has resumed with it’s “letter of the week”.  Since I create things to go with our current letter, I wanted to share them here as well.

Our first Letter of the Week is Aa.  This year, I’ve created magnet sheets and added 2 more writing practice sheets.  For the magnet sheets, I used apple and ant.  It was my first experience making these and it was rather fun!!  For the writing practice sheets, I used award and artist.  I did create those with both fonts….ZB and DN.

Here’s a thumbnail collage of what I added to Letter of the Week this year…..

As well as the new items, the folder also contains the items that I made last year.  That includes writing practice sheets, Play-Doh mats, and a My Letter Aa Book in both fonts.  There’s also a set of letter tile mats.

To download the Letter of the week printables, just…..

As always, I appreciate your comments and feedback on the materials that I create.  Also, I’d love it if you’d vote for my blog by clicking the button below….thanks!!

Pumpkin Patch Alphabet Kids – Upper Case

My family and I had a movie marathon today.  In between times, I created this new game.  It’s Pumpkin Patch Alphabet Kids and works on the skill of matching lower case letter to the uppper case letter.

I didn’t place the upper case letters in alphabetical order on the game board because I know how well kids are at memorizing them!!  The player will place a lower case pumpkin letter token on the upper case letter pumpkin patch kid.  This should make for a fun autumn game and keep the kids busy for awhile!!

Here’s a collage of the some of the parts of this game…..

If you’re interested Pumpkin Patch Alphabet Kids, please just…..

If you use this ffg, please leave a comment and let me know how you and the kids like it and also, if you’d like to see a lower case game.  I’d appreciate it if you’d click the button below (as well as in the side bar under “vote or rate The Schoolhouse”).  I love feedback….thanks!!

Direction Prepositions with Mr. Snuffleupagus

Earlier this week, I shared a spacial (location) preposition book with you.  It featured Mr. Snuffleupagus and one of his favorite foods….cabbage!!

This time, the item that I’m sharing is a spacial (direction) preposition book featuring Snuffy again.  However, this one features what Snuffy is doing.  It also includes his cave home and his other favorite food, spaghetti!!  After reading the sentence and identifying the spacial preposition, the kids will write it on the line under the picture.

Here’s a collage sample of some of the pages….

If you’re interested this spacial preposition book, please just…..

**PLEASE NOTE: Mr. Snuffleupagus (Snuffy) character © Jim Hanson and Sesame Workshop – I in no way lay claim to ownership of the character, images, books, or anything else pertaining to Mr. Snuffleupagus or Sesame Street.  These printables are for educational purposes only!!**

If you use this book, please leave a comment and let me know how you and the kids like it….or don’t like it.  I’d also appreciate it if you’d click the button below (as well as in the side bar under “vote or rate The Schoolhouse”).  I love feedback and create by the input that I receive….thanks!!
