I’m going to be rewarding my newsletter followers with exclusive freebies just for them!! This is something that I’ve wanted to do for awhile and I’ve finally gotten ready to implement it, so I’m really excited to tell you all about how to get exclusive freebies.
The best way to keep up with The Treasured Schoolhouse is to sign-up for the newsletter. That way, you’ll know every time I post to my blog. You won’t be spammed or anything else. You’ll just simply receive an excerpt of the post and you can click on the link to come back to the blog to finish reading it. Best of all, you only receive the newsletter when I post something….and not for anything else!!
So now onto the exclusive offer for followers of the newsletter. YAY!! If you sign-up to receive the newsletter to The Treasured Schoolhouse, you’ll receive a password the next time I post to a freebie. To access the freebie, you’ll be able to click on the link in the newsletter or you can come here to the blog and click on the “For Subscribers” tab. You’ll have to input the password, which will give you access to any freebies that are on the page. Sometimes they will be forever free and sometimes they’ll be free for a certain amount of time.
My goal is to offer a new freebie at least once a month. I can’t promise that though, so we’re going to say a new one will be posted as often as possible. I don’t want to disappoint anyone or break a promise, so for now, that’s what we’re going with!! You never know though, so you’ll want to check back, as there won’t be a notice when a new freebie is listed. I plan on having the freebies that I list be both Christian and educational so that I can cover both of my types of followers.
Also, the password will change often, so you’ll want to check with the newsletter to make sure you have the newest password. You don’t want to lose access to the “For Subscribers” page to grab the freebies!!
If this sounds good to you, please just sign-up to receive the newsletter. If you don’t already subscribe, you can enter your information on the sign-up form over in the right hand column of this blog. If you already do subscribe, then the password will be included in the next newsletter!!

Last night was the first night back to class. I was excited to meet my new kiddos and get back to religious education.
I always start with creation because well, that’s where we started. So much time is spent on rules, what’s expected, homework, prayers, and so on, that the lesson needs to be fairly simple. I break creation down over a couple of lessons and classes. Yesterday, I read the story of creation to them from the Bible. I stop after each day to review what was created that day.
Then, we did a cut & paste worksheet that I made for class. It’s a mat that has each day and what was created on it. So they start off by coloring what was created each day.
Lots of colors and no scribbling!
Next, we cut out all the different days.
Good scissors skills!
Then, we glued them onto the mat and placed them in their boxes.
We love our glue sponges!Glue them into their proper days!
Here’s the final project!!
All done!So happy with our first project!
The kids had a blast!! I have a freebie for you, so that your kids can have a blast as well. If you click on the image below, you can download the simple color version of this project. I hope that the kids enjoy!!
Also, this project is available for purchase in my shop. It’s available in color and black & white, plus it has a little bit “fancier” borders on the mat. This is a set of journal pages or a writing activity. They come in 2 types of lines for a variety of ages/grades.
You can write your promises on the lines for each aspect of Lent….prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. It can be done daily, weekly, or just once during the Lent season.

I have something special, just for you my readers. I wanted to give you a present this year for following along and putting up with my sporadic posts and everything else!!
This is a 4-page coloring book for the nativity. It focuses on Luke 2 and Matthew 2. It’s just a small book….well, it’s more like pages, to tell the real story of Christmas. The focus of these pages are geared toward Catholic, as I used the New American Standard Bible (NASB). Any faith surely can use it though!!
If you’re interested in these coloring pages, please just….
I hope that you can use it in your classroom, homeschool, or for religious education. If you do, please be sure to leave me a comment and let me know!!

This past week in class, we worked on learning about prayer. It’s always such an interesting topic for my kids.
So often, they think that they can only pray kneeling. They also think that you have to be silent when you pray. They love finding out that they can stand up against a tree in the park and thank God for his amazing creation!!
To help them learn more about prayer, I created this prompt for them to draw their prayer….
I also have a big set of these prompts available in my stores. There’s a total of 16 pages and it’s a great deal at $3. It’s great for a variety of ages/grades as there’s prompts to write, draw, or do both!! You can find this full set at…..
Last year, I did a really fun activity with my kids. They loved it then and they really loved it again this year. So, I just had to share!!
In the big open space, they draw a picture of themselves. They need to see what makes them special like the color of their hair, skin, eyes, and so on. Of course, they’re little ones, so they’re far from perfect, but they sure are fun!!
There’s also an area to put stickers down with their name on them or glue letters down. There’s also a blank line for them to write their names. On the side, there’s a cute poem about being unique. Finally, on the side, they can also put their fingerprint under the magnifying glass. Why?? Because each of us has a fingerprint that is unique to only us!! To do this part, we just used an ink pad.
If you’re interested in this activity page, just click to….
Here are some photos my kids in action with this page this year. You’ll notice that I forgot my stickers at home, so we made due and used letter beads!!
If you use this page, please leave a comment and let me know if your kids enjoyed it as much as mine did!!

This story wheel is actually 2 wheels under one cover “wheel”. The first is to select the day of creation and the second is to identify what was created on that day. This project is perfect for learning or reviewing the days of creation.
