Letter of the Week: Ll

The current Letter of the Week is Ll.  There’s a set of magnet sheets featuring llama and leaf.  I think they’re pretty cute too!!  Also, there’s new writing practice sheets with ladle and list.  Those are available in both fonts….ZB and DN.

Here’s a thumbnail collage of what I newly added to Letter of the Week…..

The letter Ll folder also includes the items that I previously made for Letter of the Week.  You’ll find the My Letter Ll Book in both fonts.  There’s also writing practice sheets and (Play-Doh) mats.  Which, also come in both fonts.  Finally, there’s a set of Ll letter tile mats which have been updated to include a word list so the kids can self-check.

To download the Letter of the Week printables, just…..

As always, I appreciate your comments and feedback on the materials that I create. Also, I’d love it if you’d vote for my blog by clicking the button below….thanks!!

I’m so excited to announce that my blog is hosting its first ever give-away!!  This give-away is sponsored by Amanda of A-Manda Creation .  She’s provided the “grand prize”, which is a $10 gift certificate to her store!!  Amanda also provided the kit, Time to Rhyme,  used to make the FREE printables for this give-away strictly as a promotion.  The kit that she let me use is Dr. Seuss based.  Her kits are personal use ONLY!!  She’s a wonderful and friendly lady to work with and I’m so honored that she’s letting me host this give-away featuring one of her products, as well as the “grand prize”.

Every person that enters will receive their choice from 1 of 3 FREE educational printables that I’ve made just for this event.  At the end of the give-away, I will draw a random number (based on how many comments/entries there are) and that person will receive the $10 gift certificate to A-Manda Creation.  The drawing for the winner will be held 29 September at 12pm (CST) and the winner will be announced via blog post at that time.

Direction Prepositions with Mr. Snuffleupagus

Earlier this week, I shared a spacial (location) preposition book with you.  It featured Mr. Snuffleupagus and one of his favorite foods….cabbage!!

This time, the item that I’m sharing is a spacial (direction) preposition book featuring Snuffy again.  However, this one features what Snuffy is doing.  It also includes his cave home and his other favorite food, spaghetti!!  After reading the sentence and identifying the spacial preposition, the kids will write it on the line under the picture.

Here’s a collage sample of some of the pages….

If you’re interested this spacial preposition book, please just…..

**PLEASE NOTE: Mr. Snuffleupagus (Snuffy) character © Jim Hanson and Sesame Workshop – I in no way lay claim to ownership of the character, images, books, or anything else pertaining to Mr. Snuffleupagus or Sesame Street.  These printables are for educational purposes only!!**

If you use this book, please leave a comment and let me know how you and the kids like it….or don’t like it.  I’d also appreciate it if you’d click the button below (as well as in the side bar under “vote or rate The Schoolhouse”).  I love feedback and create by the input that I receive….thanks!!

Requests

I use this blog to post things that I create for classroom, homeschool, or really anyone who loves kids and likes to keep them having fun while learning.  I’m sure that everyone that has visited this blog or my family life blog knows that.  What you might not know is that I also take requests.  Sometimes I draw a blank on what’s new or what to create.

To fill the “void”, I do accept requests.  If you see something that you’d like, but want it in a different theme, just let me know.  If there’s something you need for a lesson like a game or worksheet, you can just tell me and I’ll see what I can do.  I can make just about anything to suit your needs.  The only thing that I ask is that you give me sufficient time to create it.  As you know, life tends to step in and I can’t always just create something with last minute notice.

I will say, often the only time I can’t create something is if I don’t have graphics readily available.  Since my printables are free and we’re a single income family, I can’t always buy what’s needed.  That said, I generally have whatever graphics I do need, but it has happened a couple times that I didn’t.

So please, if you like my printables for home or school, but I don’t have exactly what you need, just contact me.  I might already have it made, just not shared on the blog….or I can create it!!  If you’d like to make a request (or have questions/comments/concerns/suggestions), click the “Contact The Schoolhouse” button in the right hand column of this page.  That will open up a comment form.  Just fill in the required information, click “send” and it’ll come right to my inbox!!  I’ll reply to you as soon as possible and let you know if I can fulfill your request or just answer your questions/comments.

I look forward to seeing what YOU need or want to see on my blog!!

Travel Fun & Games

I know that summer is quickly coming to an end, but you can’t tell it by the temperatures here!!  There’s also lots of people out there taking their family vacations or visiting family and friends.  To keep the kids busy in the car, I’ve created a couple simple printable activities.

Last year, I made a Travel Bingo game where the objects can be marked off as you find them on the trip.  There’s also calling cards, that someone could use to call off objects or they could be cut apart and the players draw objects….until BINGO is yelled!!

There’s a set of Travel Word Games where words are made from travel phrases.  There’s 4 different ones!!  I also made 2 versions of tic-tac-toe with a travel theme.  Finally, there’s a set of maps to choose from to color the states (or countries) that you visit or travel through on your summer journeys.

I have 2 more games in the works, but I don’t know if I’ll get them done or not.  Well, I will, it’s just a matter of when!!  Just so many things going on right now and I’m trying to keep up with it all.  Please check back to THIS post to see if there’s an update for me finishing up creating them.  If it’s not posted by Sunday, then I got overwhelmed and I’m not sure when they’ll be complete!!

Here’s a collage sample of some of the items for travel fun & games….

If you’re interested in the travel fun & games printables, please just…..

UPDATE:  There is a new set of 9-piece jigsaw puzzles with a variety of cute and fun travel pictures.  There’s 4 puzzles in the set.

If you’re going on vacation, taking a trip someplace, visiting family, or going use these games for your homeschool, classroom, or other location, please leave a comment and let me know how you and the kids like it.  I’d also appreciate it if you’d click the button below (as well as in the side bar under “vote or rate The Schoolhouse”).

Let’s Have a Luau

Summer is the perfect time to have a luau!!  I’ve created several printables that can be used in the classroom or at a party.

This set includes several puzzles with various number of pieces.  The main object of the puzzles is a tiki.  There’s also an old Hawaii map postcard and other luau related items.  There’s also a full set of cards that feature tiki art and they can be used for memory/concentration with a storage box.

There is also a Tiki Tango Game.  This is a game that can be mounted inside a file folder and used as a file folder game or it can be laminated together and used as a game board.  It’s a word game with all the words having –ANG- in them.  It includes the cover, directions, tab label, die, player tokens, and game board.

Here’s a collage of just some of the luau/tiki items available ….

Tiki art from internet sources.  Box background from Vecteezy and tiki head from Creative Clips.

If you’re interested in these tiki printables, please just…..

If you use these materials for your homeschool, party, classroom, or other location, please leave a comment and let me know how you and the kids like it. I’d also appreciate it if you’d click the buttons below (as well as in the side bar under “vote or rate my blog”).
