Sharing the Love

I know, my posting is few and far between.  Since my surgery, I’m just so much more active and don’t spend the time at the computer that I used to.  Plus with the GigaTribe mess, I just didn’t feel like sharing, much less creating new materials.  I gotta admit that I miss it just a bit though!!

Today, I have a folder of Valentine’s Day printables.  Most of these were made last year.  Some of you might have them, or they might be new to many of you.  Either way, it’s a great set of 9 fun activities for the kids!!

First up is my oldest one in the batch.  It’s Valentine Stamp Pattern worksheets and there’s about 3 pages of pretty stamps to complete the pattern on.  Next is A Heart of Many Colors and it’s a set of 2-part cards for color matching.  Then, I have The Shapes of Love 2-part cards for matching the shape to the shape word.

There’s 2 sets of clothespin cards.  One is Have a Heart and that’s for counting numbers 0-20 and Sweetness & Love is for matching upper case to lower case letters.  I also have a set of Have a Heart mirror cards to work on symmetry and just fun play with a mirror!!

A Time for Love is a set of 2-part cards for telling time.  They are for 5 minute times.  There’s a flipbook called Count on Love for matching the number of objects, the numeral, and the number word from 0-20.  Finally, there’s The Price of Being Love Birds which is a set of 2-part cards for money values.  It’s matching the value of a Valentine’s gift to the correct amount in coins.

Groundhog Day

I’m finally back with some printables to share.  In honor of today being Groundhog Day, I thought I’d break out some of my older creations for this event that haven’t been shared in quite some time.

There are 2 puzzles.  The “Daily Nooz” is 9 pieces and the groundhog puzzle is 24 pieces

There is also a groundhog memory game that includes clipart and images of groundhogs and Groundhog Day.

Finally, there’s Groundhog Playground, which is a file folder game (ffg) that can be played just for fun on Groundhog Day, or even all winter long.  If you swap out the cards that are included and replaced them with some of your own, you could use the game to work or review a certain skill that the kids are working on.

All clipart and images are from internet sources and believed to be public domain.

Here’s a thumbnail view of some of the elements of the Groundhog Day printables….

New Year …. New Direction

I want to wish all my readers, followers, and those who use my printables, a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  I hope that you have a blessed 2012.

With a new year comes new directions and some changes.  This is so true for me!!  It’s also true for my blog and the things that I create.  I will still continue to create and share my educational and Christian printables, but I’m adding to my portfolio.  I’m going to start to create printables for the home, party supplies, gifts, and items like those.  I feel that it’s time for my to broaden my horizons.  I don’t think that any of you will be disappointed by what I share and I think it will bring in a wider range of viewers to my blog.

My first new offering for the new year is a set of checkbook cover art.  This is a set of 4 different ones.  The checkbook cover art are inserted inside the clear plastic covers.  I’ve had one of these covers for years and my insert if wearing out and I’ve often wanted to change it out.  I measured them for the clear cover that I have, but some might vary slightly in size even though they’re pretty standard in size.  In that instance, I’d just trim off the borders to help them fit better.

Who Is Watching Baby Jesus?

Today is the 20th and final posting of Nativity A Day.  It looks like I missed 3 posting, but I might not be finished for today yet!!  I really enjoyed this challenge, and I hope that you did too.

My offering for today is Who Is Watching Baby Jesus? and it’s played like Who Took the Cookie? and Who Stole Santa’s Elf? that I posted after Thanksgiving.  Players are dealt cards face down and flip one at a time over.  If the player doesn’t have baby Jesus, they say “NOT ME” and play continues on in this manner, one player at a time.  If they do flip over baby Jesus, then they say “IT’S ME” and the game ends.  In this case, the one “watching” baby Jesus is the winner!!  This also includes the box to store the cards in.

Nativity Alphabet Writing Practice

It’s the 19th posting of Nativity A Day and it’s almost at it’s end.  Tomorrow will be the final day that I offer a nativity freebie for this holiday season.  I’ve had so much fun with this.  I’ve stressed over it a few times, missed a couple days…..but no matter what, I enjoyed it!!  I hope that you did as well and that the kids benefit from this in so many ways.

Up for offering today are Nativity Alphabet Writing Practice cards.  These tracing cards are a good size cards that could easily be laminated and written on with dry erase marker or they could just be printed out and used with any writing instrument.  Each card contains the upper case and lower case letter, with a cute nativity scene.  Also, there’s 2 sets, in case some of you use ZB or DN (labeled in the file name).

The Nativity Cards & Box

So it’s finally back to The Schoolhouse with Nativity A Day.  This is the 17th posting and there’s only 3 more to go in addition to this one.  That means that I missed 3 postings!!  What do you think of that??  Do you think that I completed my personal challenge??

Today I have a set of nativity cards to offer.  These are large cards and can be used a number of ways.  If you only print one set, you could use them for flashcards, sequencing, or retelling the story of the nativity.  If you print 2 copies, they could be used for “Go Fish”, concentration/memory, or “Old Maid” (but don’t forget to pull one card so you have an odd one).  They could be used for so much more too!!  It also includes a storage box to keep them in.

MERRY, or Christmas Bingo!!

Unfortunately, there is no Nativity A Day again today.  It’s just been too busy of a weekend and I didn’t feel that I could properly do what I needed to do for a nativity printable.  Nativity A Day will definitely return tomorrow (over at Commotion from the Ocean of Life) and barring any unforeseen issues, will post everyday until the 23rd as planned.  Thanks for sticking with me and all the holiday craziness!!

I don’t post empty handed though!!  I have a game called MERRY, which is just a fun Christmas word for bingo.  There’s a big variety of cards, so you can have from 1-12 play.  That means that you can use if for all those fun holiday parties and family events this week!!  The clipart is some really cute Christmas curls and I just think they’re so fun and interesting.  I’ve had them a year and finally decided what to do with them!!  I did include calling cards that can be left as is, or cut apart to draw which object will be called next.

Christmas Freebies

Today there will be no Nativity A Day posting, as it was a crazy busy day and I’m literally getting burned out creating the nativity items.  The nativity is like one of my most favorite things, but expecting myself to come up with something new was just asking too much of myself….at least right now.  I’m still uncertain if Nativity A Day will return or not tomorrow as I still have Christmas shopping to do other duties that really need tending to.

I do still have a couple of Christmas freebies to offer you though.  They are both sets of 2-part cards.  I’ll list each one separately so you can decide if you want one….or both of them!!

Christmas Graphics © Michelle @ 4 My Babies Scraps with permission.

The first set of 2-part cards is for counting 0-25.  They are Santa’s Counting Presents in His Sleigh and they will count the number of presents.  Then, the number of presents is matched to the numeral on Santa.

Here’s a thumbnail view of some of the 2-part cards in this set….

If you’re interested in these 2-part cards, please just click to….

The second set of 2-part cards are Decorate the Tree and they’re for matching alphabet upper and lower case letters.  The poor Christmas tree still isn’t decorated and Santa is on his way, so the tree with the upper case letter needs to be matched with the lower case letter of the ornament that will adorn the tree!!

Reason for the Season Lacing Cards

So now I’m a day behind with my Nativity A Day freebies and I’m not sure if I’m going to get caught up or just have to write a day off as missed.  I missed my posting yesterday because I was just overwhelmed with my religion class Christmas party and things around the house.

Putting that behind me, I have the 14th posting of Nativity A Day and it’s a set of Reason for the Season Lacing Cards.  I tried to make the lacing cards a couple of different ways, but I kept going back to this style.  These are shape cards with nativity images in the middle of each card.  They’re laced around the ample border of each shape.  I’m actually very happy with the way that they turned out and hope that you’ll be able to use them at home or in the classroom!!

The Nativity Dominoes

Nativity A Day and it’s 13th posting brings us a set of nativity dominoes.  This is a large set!!  They’re a size that should be good for small hands to play with….and big ones too.  There’s also a storage box to hold the set of dominoes.

There’s so many activities that can be done with dominoes, so I hope that these will help you find something fun for the kids to do or a nice family night Christmas game!!

Graphing and Tallying the Nativity

Today is the 11th post of Nativity A Day and it’s moving right along.  I actually made this one during some free time last night, but by the time it was done, I was too tired to actually post it!!

Today’s Nativity A Day freebie is a set of graphing worksheets.  For the first one, there are different elements from the nativity on a chart and they will need to right down the points where each element is.  I provided an answer key for this so that they can self-check if desired.

The next two activities require a the die that elements of the nativity on it.  Each time it’s rolled, they will either tally or color in the chart for which element it lands on.  There’s no answer key for the graphing or tallying because answers will vary each time.
