A 4th of July Gift

Today, I have an “Exclusive Reader Gift” for the 4th of  July!!

I made some Star Spangled Number Puzzles.  These are all items that one would probably see either on the 4th of July or affiliated with it.  These puzzles are for numbers 0-25.

I also made several jigsaw puzzles.  There’s some antique ones that are 8 and 12 pieces.  There’s also 2 each of some really pretty 4th of July images that I found.  Those are 24 and 48 pieces.

Here’s a sample of some of the items….

If you’re interested in this “Exclusive Reader Gift”, please just…..

Doodles ©  Kate Hadfield Designs at The Lilypad.  Clipart Katie ©  at Just So Scrappy Too.  They are used with permission.  All other images from internet sources.  They are believed to be public domain and are used without profit for educational purposes only.

As an added bonus, this folder also contains 5 files that I created last year.  They’re all a fireworks theme and perfect to go along with this Gift to my loyal readers….and my new ones too!!

I’m working on another project to share as part of this Reader Gift.  I don’t know when it’ll be completed.  I think it’ll be worth the wait though!!  So, please check back to this post for an update to let you know when it’s available!!

If you’re celebrating the 4th of July….or going use these games for your homeschool, classroom, or other location, please leave a comment and let me know how you and the kids like it. I’d also appreciate it if you’d click the buttons below (as well as in the side bar under “vote or rate The Schoolhouse”).

UPDATEI was able to finish my other Reader Gift.  I’m happy with how it turned out and I hope that you can use and enjoy it as much as I did making it.  My last item is Patriotic Word Writing Strips.  I made them with a tracing font, but they could also be used for a word wall as well.

Let’s Have a Picnic!!

July is National Picnic Month.  It starts off the perfect way and the perfect time for a picnic.  And that great start is Independence Day!!  What’s better than celebrating the 4th of July with a cookout or picnic by the lake.

I’ve created a couple items to help celebrate National Picnic Month and get us ready for bbq-ing this summer and church picnics!!  First, there’s Ants on a Picnic Number Mats and we all know how pesky those ants can be!!  Ants are sorted onto the mats by the number indicated on the picnic basket.  You won’t be annoyed by these cute little ants though!!

Next, there’s 2 sets of Picnic Alphabet Writing Strips.  There’s a set for upper case….and a set for lower case.  I also made a sequencing puzzle called Sequence Teddy Bear’s Picnic.  It’s made from an adorable picture and they place the strips in order to complete the puzzle.

Finally, there’s some shadow matching cards.  These are What’s in the Picnic Basket? Shadow Match Cards.  There’s an image on the plate and it must be matched to the shadow of that image on the picnic basket.  What do you think it inside the picnic basket??

Here’s a sample collage of some of the pages….

If you’re interested in these picnic printables, please just click for each one below.

Superman

Superman first appeared was June 1938.  His first appearance was in Action Comics #1.  If you’re intrested in learning more about Superman, check out Wikipedia and Superman Homepage.

In celebration of his “birthday”, I’ve created a couple printables.  These could easily be used in the classroom, homeschool, or gifts and games for a party theme.  There’s a set of jigsaw puzzles that vary in the number of pieces and some really great images were used to create these.  There’s also a set of cards with a storage box.  These cards can be used for memory/concentration, “Go Fish”, “Old Maid”, or other games!!

Here’s a sample collage of some of the pages….

Say Cheese!

This is a file folder game (ffg) or mat is for beginning “ch” blend in words.  This ffg in includes a playing mat, word cards, worksheet, cover/directions, word picture, and a tab label.  The player will place a “ch” blend word, such as cheese, on the mat and then match it up to the corresponding picture.  There’s a worksheet that may be completed during or after play.

This is just a fun way to practice phonics and word recognition!

Here’s a sample collage of some of the pages….

Let’s Have a Luau

Summer is the perfect time to have a luau!!  I’ve created several printables that can be used in the classroom or at a party.

This set includes several puzzles with various number of pieces.  The main object of the puzzles is a tiki.  There’s also an old Hawaii map postcard and other luau related items.  There’s also a full set of cards that feature tiki art and they can be used for memory/concentration with a storage box.

There is also a Tiki Tango Game.  This is a game that can be mounted inside a file folder and used as a file folder game or it can be laminated together and used as a game board.  It’s a word game with all the words having –ANG- in them.  It includes the cover, directions, tab label, die, player tokens, and game board.

Here’s a collage of just some of the luau/tiki items available ….

Tiki art from internet sources.  Box background from Vecteezy and tiki head from Creative Clips.

If you’re interested in these tiki printables, please just…..

Hello world!!

As you can see, I’m starting up a brand new blog.  I feel that it’s really important to separate my Christian and educational printables from my daily blog.  I know this may seem like more work, but I actually think this is going to be less stressful and easier to maintain.  I won’t have to worry about who’s happy and who’s not, because everyone will be….including me!!

So please, subscribe to the blog, grab my blog button and enjoy!!  I’ll be posting some brand new printables very soon in hopes that they help you and the kids!!
