Requests

I use this blog to post things that I create for classroom, homeschool, or really anyone who loves kids and likes to keep them having fun while learning.  I’m sure that everyone that has visited this blog or my family life blog knows that.  What you might not know is that I also take requests.  Sometimes I draw a blank on what’s new or what to create.

To fill the “void”, I do accept requests.  If you see something that you’d like, but want it in a different theme, just let me know.  If there’s something you need for a lesson like a game or worksheet, you can just tell me and I’ll see what I can do.  I can make just about anything to suit your needs.  The only thing that I ask is that you give me sufficient time to create it.  As you know, life tends to step in and I can’t always just create something with last minute notice.

I will say, often the only time I can’t create something is if I don’t have graphics readily available.  Since my printables are free and we’re a single income family, I can’t always buy what’s needed.  That said, I generally have whatever graphics I do need, but it has happened a couple times that I didn’t.

So please, if you like my printables for home or school, but I don’t have exactly what you need, just contact me.  I might already have it made, just not shared on the blog….or I can create it!!  If you’d like to make a request (or have questions/comments/concerns/suggestions), click the “Contact The Schoolhouse” button in the right hand column of this page.  That will open up a comment form.  Just fill in the required information, click “send” and it’ll come right to my inbox!!  I’ll reply to you as soon as possible and let you know if I can fulfill your request or just answer your questions/comments.

I look forward to seeing what YOU need or want to see on my blog!!

Happy Birthday, Bert!!

Today, is Bert’s birthday.  Bert is best known as the best friend of Ernie on Sesame Street.  He likes to collect paper clips and bottle caps.   Bert has a pigeon called Bernice.  He has a twin brother, Bart, who’s a salesman.

To celebrate Bert’s birthday, I’m offering a couple of printables featuring our serious friend from 123 Sesame Street.  First is “Bert Label the Color Cards”.  These cards feature Bert’s face in many colors and each one is to be labeled with the corresponding color word.  There’s also “Bb for Bert” sorting mats.  Items are sorted by objects that start with “Bb” or don’t start with “Bb”.  There’s a worksheet that accompanies this game for when the sorting is complete!!

Here’s a collage sample of some of Bert’s pages….

If you’re interested celebrating Bert’s birthday, please just…..

**PLEASE NOTE:  Bert character © Jim Hanson and Sesame Workshop – I in no way lay claim to ownership of the character, images, books, or anything else pertaining to Bert or Sesame Street.  All printables for educational purposes only!!**

UPDATE:  I created a set of 3-part cards for Bert.  He has a couple hobbies of collecting bottle caps and paper clips and these cards work on counting the objects of that hobby.  The numeral is matched with the number and number word.

If you’re celebrating Bert’s birthday, a fan of Sesame Street, or going use these games for your homeschool, classroom, or other location, please leave a comment and let me know how you and the kids like it. I’d also appreciate it if you’d click the button below to vote for my blog (as well as in the side bar under “vote or rate The Schoolhouse”).

UPDATE: For a READER EXCLUSIVE, I whipped up another game just for you!! This is “Counting Bert’s Paperclips & Bottle Caps”.  It’s a set of 3-part cards to help Bert count his paperclip and bottle cap collection. If you’re interested in these, just click the download button above!!

Hello world!!

As you can see, I’m starting up a brand new blog.  I feel that it’s really important to separate my Christian and educational printables from my daily blog.  I know this may seem like more work, but I actually think this is going to be less stressful and easier to maintain.  I won’t have to worry about who’s happy and who’s not, because everyone will be….including me!!

So please, subscribe to the blog, grab my blog button and enjoy!!  I’ll be posting some brand new printables very soon in hopes that they help you and the kids!!
